DTI personnel monitors the prices of basic goods and prime commodities in grocery stores. |
The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office launched
its Online Price Monitoring System (also known as ‘e-Presyo’) on Wednesday that
would enable the consuming public to check the prevailing prices of basic
necessities and prime commodities.
The launching was attended by
consumer groups, retailers, and other business organizations in the province. The
application can be downloaded in android smartphones where consumers can
readily access when shopping for groceries.
To access the price application,
one may visit the DTI website, www.dti.gov.ph,
then go to the ‘Consumers’ icon and click ‘e-Presyo.’ Android mobile users, on
the other hand, may opt to download or install the ‘DTI e-Presyo’ free application
available at Google Play.
DTI VI OIC Regional Director
Rebecca M. Rascon said that with this development, consumers will be aware of
the prevailing prices of basic and prime commodities that would lead them to commercial
establishments selling the lowest price of the items they need.
The ‘e-Presyo’ covers a nationwide
price data and can be accessed anytime online.
Prices of basic and prime
commodities are monitored from grocery stores, supermarkets, wet markets,
hardware/construction materials, and flour dealers/distributors. The DTI also monitors
school supplies, Noche Buena products and candles on seasonal basis.
The DTI Provincial Offices in Capiz
and Iloilo had earlier launched the ‘e-Presyo.’
