Anita ‘Anet’ Feria is the pioneering person behind the famous Negros Occidental ceramic industry for world market. She eventually innovated the mix of ceramics with handloom pandan leaves which under the brand Anaware created an international acceptance for exports to Europe, USA, Australia and Japan.

Mr. Pascual Deita is a producer of fine-crafted bamboo products from Brgy. Bonga, Panay, Capiz.  His artistic prowess and creativity were developed when, as an out-of-school youth in 1975, he was identified as one of the scholars of the Capiz Provincial Government of a vocational course on bamboo craft production offered by the Capiz Model Production Center of NACIDA (National Cottage Industries Development Authority) in Ivisan, Capiz.

Nanay Susing or Susima Marte dela Cruz, the matriarch of the Dela Cruz House of Piña in Aklan grew up helping her mother weave pure piña cloth. Their efforts gave birth to the Dela Cruz House of Piña, a homegrown business which has enabled her to send all her children to the best schools in Manila.

DTI Guimaras Provincial Office regularly monitors the prices of eggs and chicken in retail stores and at the Jordan Food Terminal Market in Jordan, Guimaras. The price monitoring showed that prices of eggs per piece ranges, as follows:

Small               - P 5.00 – P 5.75
Medium           - P 6.00 – P 6.25
Large               - P 6.25 – P 7.00
Extra Large     - P 7.00 – P 7.80

Retail stores in the Province of Guimaras selling monobloc chairs and stools were inspected to ensure product safety and quality compliance. Monobloc chairs and stools are some of the products issued with Mandatory Products Certification by the Bureau of Product Standards.

DTI Guimaras ‘Balik Eskwela’ Sale generated P254,500.00 in gross sales





The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office conducted Balik Eskwela (in-store promo) on May 22 to June 2, 2017.  The activity, which encourages retail stores and micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)  to partner with DTI,  aims to offer 5percent to 15 percent discounts on school needs, medicines, selected electrical items, among others, in line with the opening of classes in June.

The DTI Capiz Provincial Office concluded the Balik Eskwela Diskwento Caravan activity on May 11 and 12 in Pres. Roxas and Mambusao, Capiz, respectively. A total of 10 distributors/ retailers, with the National Food Authority (NFA) rolling store, participated in the event.

The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office joined the One Stop Shop of Government Services spearheaded by the provincial government on May 16. The activity was conducted in line with the 2017 Mangahan Festival Celebration.

The kiosks operation is in time for the holding of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Council Meeting from March 6 to 9, 2017 at the Iloilo Convention Center.

DTI Aklan conducts negosyo encounter in Lezo

Various concerns of existing and aspiring entrepreneurs were addressed in the Municipality of Lezo, Aklan after several national government agencies converged for the Negosyo Encounter at the town’s covered court on February 28, 2017.

DTI Aklan sets to launch four more NCs

The DTI Aklan Provincial Office is set to launch additional Negosyo Centers (NCs) in the province. The local government units of Makato, Libacao, Malinao, and Malay already gave their nod for the establishment of the facility in their respective municipalities.

DTI VI doubles target of NCs to be established


In an attempt to further promote the assistance of the government to micro, small and medium entrepreneurs in the countryside, the DTI VI will almost double its earlier commitment on the establishment of Negosyo Centers in Western Visayas and Negros Island Region, this year.

7 WV women micro-entrepreneurs to join exhibit in Manila



This traditional buri and pandan bags with a touch of modern items will be showcased at the BDTP Showroom. It is manufactured by Nelanz Crafts of San Lorenzo, Guimaras owned and managed by Ana Rodriguez.

The DTI VI has selected seven women micro-entrepreneurs in the region to join the month-long trade fair of the Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotions (BDTP) in Makati City which runs from March 20 to April 20, 2017.
