To
highlight the gains of the Promotion of Green Economic Development (ProGED)
Project before it finally culminates in December 2016, the DTI VI will hold a two-day
forum to be attended by the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the
region.
The
forum will be held at the Hotel del Rio from September 6 to 7, 2016 in cooperation
with the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zussamenarbeit), DTI’s partner
organization for the project.
The
forum, entitled “Accelerating the Promotion of Green Economic Development”,
will likewise be a venue for MSMEs to share their stories and the positive results
of adopting green initiatives in their businesses.
There
will also be technical sessions and discussions on green practices especially along
the key environmental hotspots namely energy, water, solid waste, natural
resource, pollution, transport, and material consumption.
“We
want to inspire other MSMEs to apply green practices in their businesses in
order to improve their companies’ competitiveness,” said DTI VI OIC-Regional
Director Rebecca M. Rascon.
DTI
Undersecretary for Regional Operations Group (ROG) Zenaida C. Maglaya and GIZ ProGED
Project Manager Dr. Volker Steiugerwald are expected to grace the activity and inspire
the businesses to support and sustain the implementation of the initiatives
beyond ProGED.
