The Municipality
of Pontevedra, Capiz, in collaboration with the DTI - Capiz
Provincial Office, has successfully conducted a trade fair
during the celebration of the Guyum -Guyuman Festival 2017 from
May 12 to 15.
There were 16 MSMEs/ exhibitors who
showcased their best local products from
handicrafts, processed foods and horticulture/cutflower sectors to
promote their products as well as generate more sales.
One of the highlights of the activity was the
distribution of Food Cart Starter Kits, comprised
of food carts with complete cooking equipment, to 10 beneficiaries of the
Bottom-up-Budgeting (BuB)
project of Pontevedra and DTI.
The BuB project aims to enable the
beneficiaries to start quickly their livelihood
undertaking and thus, have a
sustainable self-employment through easy to learn income-raising activity.
The beneficiaries
were the seafood vendors from the
different villages who have been
capacitated and have undergone skills training
as well as product development with the assistance from DTI
and the LGU.

their business so as to uplift
