Monobloc chairs, stools inspected for product quality, safety



Retail stores in the Province of Guimaras selling monobloc chairs and stools were inspected to ensure product safety and quality compliance. Monobloc chairs and stools are some of the products issued with Mandatory Products Certification by the Bureau of Product Standards.

The Philippine National Standards 1478, series of 1998 and the Department Administrative Order No. 2, series of 1998 require all manufacturers, distributors, importers and retailers of monobloc chairs and stools to comply with Product Standards Certification for the locally-manufactured and/or apply for Import Commodity Clearance for the imported ones.

There were 13 stores inspected, namely: RV Marketing, UI Trading, O and K Marketing, Southern Trading, Kay and Kim Marketing, Lucky Homewares Trading, Armada Electrical Supply and Merchandising, Gaitan Island Supermart, Don-Don Marketing in Jordan town.

And, Nig Marketing, CVK Store,  Homemart Plastic Wares Marketing and Tacubay Upholstery Store in the municipality of Buenavista.

DTI encourages consumers to buy only certified monobloc chairs and stools to ensure product safety and quality.  Brands recognized by DTI are Sentinel, Uratex, Cofta, Sanyobox, Uno,  Euro, Hunter, Charms, Bigbox, Xtreme, Bunny, Alatone, J & T, Nikko,  Allied, Hannita,  Ichiban,  Jolly and Scarlet.
