DTI Guimaras inspects motorcycle helmets in stores

The DTI Guimaras Provincial Office recently conducted an inspection of motorcycle helmets being sold in retail stores here.

The activity ensures compliance with Motorcycle Helmet Act No. 10054, series of 2011 and in consonance with the DTI Department Administrative Order No. 02:2007 or the Product Standards Law.

Republic Act 10054 or the Motorcycle Helmet Act secures the safety of drivers of motorcycles and their passengers from injurious effects of fatal or life threatening accidents and crashes. Moreover, the Product Standards Law requires all manufacturers to affix a Product Safety (PS) sticker on locally-made helmets and Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) sticker on imported one.

There were 15 stores selling motorcycle helmets covered by the monitoring.
