Capiz Negosyo Center bats for partnership and alliances

The DTI Capiz Provincial Office intends to pursue active partnership with existing organizations and priority industry cluster groups which are into the promotion and development of micro and small enterprises in order to be able to reach out to as many business start-ups as possible and help them advance to the next enterprise development ladder, through the Capiz Negosyo Center.

This developed as the Center opened its door to civil society organizations (CSOs) such as the World Vision Foundation, Inc. and the Philippine National Red Cross–Capiz Chapter by way of providing capability development (CAPDEV) seminars to its assisted groups engaged in various livelihood projects.

The Center also collaborated with the Public Employment Service Office – Capiz under the leadership of Vice Governor Esteban Evan Contreras for the conduct of seminars for OFWs and beneficiaries of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES).

DTI Provincial Director Ermelinda Pollentes has reported that 132 existing and potential barangay micro business entrepreneurs were served for the various CAPDEV trainings/seminars conducted by the Center for the month of April, which included Simple Bookkeeping with Product Costing and Pricing, Basic Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, and Marketing Strategies.

She noted that multiplying the desired results of one's efforts does not always require a corresponding increase in resources if one really knows how to tap the opportunities available.  Building strategic alliances is a win-win mind-set and a useful tool, she added.

Pollentes says she hopes more organizations/institutions will tap the assistance and services of the Capiz Negosyo Center in the ensuing months. Presently, the Center is preparing for the conduct of Effective Business Writing Seminar to assist micro entrepreneurs with their basic business correspondence requirements.

Said training is open to all existing and potential micro and small entrepreneurs on a first come first serve basis. Interested parties may visit the Negosyo Center located at the ground floor of the DTI Capiz Provincial Office, Sacred Heart of Jesus Avenue, Pueblo de Panay, Brgy Lawaan Roxas City or contact Ken/Caloy at 621-2637/621-1151 or 522-5887 for further inquiries.
