3-day discounted school supplies sale at the Capitol

The DTI Iloilo Provincial Office and the Philippine Retailer’s Association (PRA) – Iloilo Chapter in coordination with the Iloilo Provincial Government will conduct a Balik-Eskwela Diskwento Sale at the covered walkway of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol starting Wednesday. 

DTI Iloilo Provincial Director Diosdado P. Cadena, Jr. and PRA-Iloilo Chapter President Francis Chung will lead the opening rites followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremonies to formally launch the sale at around 9am.

The sale will run from June 1 to 3, 2016.

DTI VI OIC-Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon encouraged the parents and students to take advantage of school supplies and uniforms that are sold at discounted prices to the marginal consumers.

The Balik-Eskwela Diskwento Sale aims to provide and bring basic and prime commodities closer to the general consuming public.  Products sold here are food items, school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and other school related merchandise.

This year, the DTI Iloilo Provincial Office said that at least 12 exhibitors from the Philippine Retailers Association and local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will participate in the three-day event.

The Balik-Eskwela Diskwento Sale, a pet project of the DTI which started in 2009, aims to provide opportunity for consumers to access basic goods, school supplies and prime commodities at discounted or reduced prices by bringing manufacturers and retailers together.
