DTI Aklan conducts negosyo encounter in Lezo

Various concerns of existing and aspiring entrepreneurs were addressed in the Municipality of Lezo, Aklan after several national government agencies converged for the Negosyo Encounter at the town’s covered court on February 28, 2017.

The clients availed of one-on-one consultation with the DTI, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department Environment and Natural Resources, among others, regarding their concerns on access to finance, access to market, business enabling, and productivity and efficiency, among others.

The activity included a brief orientation on the programs and services of partner agencies such as national government agencies, provincial and municipal LGUs, financing institutions, industry groups, and business development service providers.

Lezo Mayor Mary Lenette Fernandez welcomed the participants and guests, and expressed her full support to the entrepreneurs. DTI-Aklan OIC Provincial Director Ma. Carmen Iturralde, on the other hand, provided the overview of the Negosyo Encounter.

During the activity, at least 75 entrepreneurs were assisted, and 21 new entrepreneurs’ applications for business name registration were processed through the Mobile Business Name Registration (BNR) of DTI.
Other agencies that joined the activity were: DAR, DOLE, PhilFIDA, PIA, TESDA, Provincial Governor’s Office, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Provincial Planning and Development Office, Business Permits and Licensing Office – Lezo, Landbank of the Philippines, Small Business Corporation, PHILEXPORT, Hugod Aklanon Producers Association , PiƱa MANTRA, PCCI, TRIKE E-Solutions, and Athena Business Solutions.


Moreover, a skills training seminar on nito craft was conducted on March 2-8, 2017 at the Negosyo Center Lezo. DTI enjoins MSMEs to join the programs and activities at the Negosyo Centers and avail of the services provided to further improve their capability and productivity.
