DTI-assisted women micro-entrepreneurs’ kiosks at the
Weekend Tienda sa Iloilo at the Atria Park District in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

Twenty-four women
micro-entrepreneurs joined and recorded a total gross sales of P187,084.50 in
cash and booked orders in the recently concluded Weekend Tienda sa Iloilo at
the Atria Park District on March 10-12, 2017.
These women micro-entrepreneurs are
enrolled in the Gender-Responsive Economic Actions for the Transformation of
Women (GREAT Women) Project II, a governance and capacity development project
that aims to promote and support a gender-responsive enabling environment for
women's economic empowerment, particularly those in microenterprises.
During the two-day fair, the Guimaras
Wonders Farm (comprising of Boboy’s Delicacies, Mc Nester, De Real, GuimaNuts,
and G&G Foods) was the top earner with a total gross sales of P47, 543 for
their processed foods and delicacies.
Einar’s Natural Food Export followed
with a total gross sales of P39,411 – P15,098 in cash sales and P24,313 in booked
orders; and, Zoey’s Food Products (composed of Tambaliza Small Fisherfolks
Asso., Bascal Operators of Brgy. Loong (Concepcion, Iloilo), Proper Pasil
Guardian of Marine Protected Areas and Holy Christian Workers Asso.) earned P24,000.
Other MSMEs who joined the fair
were Lezeth Food Products, Nitz and Patz, Igpigus Ginger Growers Asso., Abby’s
Chicharon, Anne Thrive Coffee, CM Bamboo Craft, Jankrist Footwear, TPAS
Agrarian Cooperative, Avila Farmers Asso., Daday’s Cashew Nut, Trappist
Monastic Food Products, and Merly’s.
Weekend Tienda sa Iloilo is a
collaboration between private business associations and regional government agencies
aimed at supporting and uplifting the spirit of entrepreneurship among Ilonggos.
“This is a venue for our farmers to market their fresh from the farm
produce and for our local MSMEs to introduce their products for the consumers to
patronize,” said DTI VI OIC-Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon.
