Women micro, small and medium
entrepreneurs generated a total sales of P62,355.50 during the three-day Iloilo
Weekend Tienda at the Atria Park District on March 10-12, 2017, with its
world-renowned fresh Guimaras mangoes being the best-seller.
Guimaras MSMEs who participated were Guimaras
Wonders Farm (comprising of Boboy’s
Delicacies, Mc Nester, De Real, GuimaNuts, and G&G Foods), Daday’s
Cashew Nuts, Avila Farmers Association, as well as TPAS Agrarian Cooperative.
The Iloilo Weekend Tienda is eyed as a
monthly event aimed to provide farmers with an upscale location to display
their products. It is also a venue for fresh market produce to be sold, as well
as for new products to be introduced in the market.
The event was organized by the Regional
Development Council, in cooperation with Taytay sa Kauswagan, Inc., Youth First
Initiative and Atria Park District, with the assistance from the National
Economic Development Administration, DTI and various government agencies.
The DTI-Guimaras Provincial Office plans
to organize more trade promotion events this year.
