2017 Panubli-on Heritage Awardee - Iloilo

ANA C. CORDOVA

Nang Ana or Ms. Ana C. Cordova started her business in the year 1969. At first it was just a hobby, eventually she decided to sell her products. Straw mats, placemats, banig and other straw products were her first products.

As time goes by, she decided to engage in hablon business. She started in the 1980s with just three workers. And in the year 2000, she organized a cooperative for the purpose of helping her fellow senior citizens in her place – the Cagbang Women’s Multipurpose Cooperative.

Later on, it became the Oton Woven Products.

Currently, her hablon products are shawls, polos, cloth, patadyong, and table runners.
Nang Ana is very overwhelmed by the help of DTI in her business. DTI helped her to promote her products by participating in trade fairs (provincial, national and international fairs).

She also participated in international fairs in New Jersey (2001), Canada (2005), Hawaii (2006), Canada (2010), and Indonesia (2017).

At 84 years old, Nang Ana is still passionate about her business, saying “I am retired but not tired.”
