2017 Panubli-on Heritage Awardee - Negros Occidental

ANITA FERIA

Anita ‘Anet’ Feria is the pioneering person behind the famous Negros Occidental ceramic industry for world market. She eventually innovated the mix of ceramics with handloom pandan leaves which under the brand Anaware created an international acceptance for exports to Europe, USA, Australia and Japan.

After three decades, Mrs. Feria has passed on her skills in design and product development on cermaics and pandan to her daughter, Mary Ann Colemenares of the Artisana brand, thereby resolves the succession of the crafts to the next generation.

Indeed, Mrs. Feria is honored for her contribution to our heritage arts and crafts as a living legacy of women behind innovations.
