Guimaras Negosyo Center now ready to assist entrepreneurs

Budding entrepreneurs and existing micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Province of Guimaras could now avail direct assistance in the development and promotion of their products and services with the opening of the Guimaras Negosyo Center (NC).

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Guimaras Provincial Office has launched its first NC in the Municipality of Jordan at the DTI Guimaras Provincial Office on Thursday, January 7, 2016.

“With the Negosyo Center, we are bringing government services closer to the MSMEs,” said Ma. Carmen I. Iturralde, officer-in-charge of the DTI-Guimaras Provincial Office. She said the facility could assist clients put up and/or expand their business.

DTI OIC-Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon stressed that supporting MSMEs does not rest on one agency alone but must be a collective effort from various government agencies and private partners towards a more inclusive economic development.
Negosyo Centers provide services to the MSME clients such as business facilitation, business registration assistance, business advisory and business information services. It likewise caters to manufacturers, traders, individuals who are engaged in industry, agri-business and other services.

At present, there are already nine NCs in Western Visayas to include two in Iloilo Province; one each in the provinces of Capiz, Aklan and Antique, three in the Province of Negros Occidental  and the newly-opened NC in Guimaras.
