DTI Iloilo Provincial Office is distributing two sets of weighing scales and metal enclosures in 44 identified public markets in the Province of Iloilo. A costumer checks the weight of his goods at the Zarraga Public Market. The DTI, in coordination with local government units (LGUs), is putting up Timbangan ng Bayan centers in public markets for the buying public to have an effective means of checking the accuracy of the weight and quantity of the goods they are buying. This project is in accordance to the Consumer Act of the Philippines or R.A. 7394.
