The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo Provincial Office briefed the members of the New Lucena Iloilo Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (NLICCII) on the opportunities offered by the agency in order for them to further develop their potentials.

Around 25 businessmen – from market vendors, kiosk owners, food processors, among others –gathered at the municipal hall for the orientation conducted by DTI Iloilo Provincial Director Engr. Diosdado P. Cadena, Jr.

The orientation was made possible with the request of NLICCII President Buen S. Mondejar.

“We want to apprise our members what services to avail from the DTI,” said Mondejar.

On Monday, Director Cadena was in New Lucena, Iloilo for the distribution of weighing scales under the Timbangan ng Bayan Project of the DTI and sign the Memorandum of Agreement with Mayor Liecel M. Seville.

“This is an opportunity for us since the DTI is already here,” Mondejar added.

Cadena, for his part, mulls the possibility of putting up a Negosyo Center in the municipality that could facilitate the processing of business name registration, provide advisory services to businessmen, trade promotions, and access to funding, among others.
