AKLAN – Farmers in agrarian reform
communities (ARCs) here underwent a two-day training on entrepreneurship development
on March 7 to 8, 2016. The activity was in line with the celebration of the National
Women’s Month and World Women’s Day.
The two-day training was organized by
the Department of Agrarian Reform with support from the DTI Aklan Provincial
Office, which discussed the topics on innovation promotion and DTI services and
guide in registering a business.
The training enabled the participants
to identify business opportunities and the challenges in their current work
areas. Some participants have identified meat processing business as one of the
profitable opportunities in their community.
The activity likewise enriched
their knowledge on business registration and guidelines; and, on the DTI-DAR
services geared towards the improvement of Aklanon farmer’s business endeavors that
support women empowerment and promotion of gender development.
The DTI Aklan Provincial Office mulls
to further train the participants on meat processing in support of their
respective business expansion/diversification. The DTI and DAR has set another round
of entrepreneurship development training next month to benefit other ARCs.
