DTI, DAR harmonize development programs

DTI VI OIC-Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon gives her welcome message to the participants.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) VI and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) VI is conducting a two-day synchronization planning workshop for both agencies to share common experiences, strengthen partnerships and collaborative efforts to improve support.

Senior Agrarian Reform Program Officer Ma. Cynthia A. Zacate from the DAR-Bureau of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Division shares the expectations of the participants on the outcome of the workshop.
The workshop aims to craft a common framework that would deliver the needed support services leading to sustainable livelihoods and enterprise development for the agrarian reform beneficiaries in the region.

DTI VI OIC-Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon had suggested that the participants consider infusing green economic development in the identification of projects. She cited DTI’s industry clustering approach which might also be considered in coming up with a strategic framework.

The activity served as venue for knowledge sharing on how common development work processes can be integrated and identify the expected outputs which would bring meaningful results toward sustainable growth.

Rascon urged the participants should look into “the impact” of the projects in the lives of the people on intermediate and long-term undertakings. The end results must be beneficial to the communities, she added.

The said synchronization work plan is a convergence program of the national government that implements programs and projects in the forms of trainings, service facilities and technical assistance to agrarian reform beneficiaries and communities.
