DTI VI houses NYC area office in Iloilo City

The NYC is located at the ground floor of the DTI Building at corner J.M. Basa - Gen. Macario Peralta Streets, Iloilo City.
The National Youth Commission (NYC) recently inaugurated its area office at the ground floor of the DTI Building on Thursday, March 10. Aside from DTI and NYC officials, local business leaders here also attended the activity.

This is the 8th Area Office of the NYC throughout the country.

DTI OIC-Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon said that the presence of the NYC office here is a big boost in achieving the objective of developing young entrepreneurs.

“We need to embark on youth entrepreneurship to develop their potentials as they play a vital role in the country’s economic development,” she said.

Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick M. Mabilog, represented by his Executive Assistant Jay Victor E. Mabilog, commended NYC Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Nielex C. Tupas for the initiative of putting up an area office here.

NYC Commissioner-at-Large Jose Sixto G. Dantes, popularly known as Dingdong Dantes, was also present during the inauguration together with other youth commissioners from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

The NYC is the government's sole policy-making body on youth affairs, likewise, coordinates and implements some programs designed to help the youth be more aware of the issues surrounding them.
