The DTI Capiz Provincial Office concluded the Balik Eskwela Diskwento Caravan activity on May 11 and 12 in Pres. Roxas and Mambusao, Capiz, respectively. A total of 10 distributors/ retailers, with the National Food Authority (NFA) rolling store, participated in the event.
Distributors/retailers coming from Roxas City loaded their vans with school supplies, canned goods, coffee, cola, rice, detergent soaps, electrical products and various consumer goods travelled together to reach the designated caravan municipalities.
The Technical Education Skills Development Authority graduate beneficiaries offered free massage, manicure and pedicure. The free services given to the consumers helped enliven the caravan venue despite the rain and intermittent striking heat of the sun.
In Pres. Roxas, sales generated totaled P154,620.74 while in Mambusao it reached P183,950.20 for a total of P338,570.94. Despite the simultaneous in-house sale conducted in Roxas City, the out of town sales is much higher than that of Roxas City by 51 percent as in-store sales recorded only P166, 584.29.
Canned goods, detergent soaps and school supplies generated the highest sales.
The objective of the Balik Eskwela Diskwento Caravan is to improve consumers’ access to basic and prime commodities including school supplies through the mobilization of distributors/retail outlets to sell consumer’s items at low or discounted prices. Cash discounts, premium-in-packs, buy one take one, freebies and other mode of promotions were availed by the consumers.
