Development to some 726 local planning and development coordinators throughout
the country during the 28th Annual National Convention of the League
of Local Planning and Development Coordinators of the Philippines, Inc. at the
Punta Villa Resort in Arevalo, Iloilo City on May 24. She also underscored the
role of DTI as engines of growth through its various programs like Shared
Service Facility, Bottom-Up Budgeting, and Project Kapatid, among others.
With
a theme, “Local Economic Development: A Strategy for Upscaling Communities Towards
Globalization and Competitiveness,” the convention tackles the role of local
planning and development coordinators in helping bring about local economic
development through developing programs, projects and activities in their
respective local government units.
The
gathering drew the best practices, experiences and strategies of the speakers
from the government and business sectors in the field of local economic
development, who shared their best practices and experiences.
The
convention runs from May 22 to 26.
